OUTLINE ITINERARY:
DAY 1 (9th May)
- picking up from Warsaw (Warsaw Chopin airport or Warsaw city centre) no later than 11 a.m.
- journey to Białowieża (ca. 3,5 hours)
- evening exploration of Białowieża Forest
DAY 2-4 (11th-12th May)
- three days of exploring Białowieża Forest
DAY 5 (13th May)
- morning exploration of Białowieża Forest
- transfer to Biebrza Marhes (ca. 2 hours) with a stop at Dojlidy or/and Knyszyn Fishponds
- evening exploration of Biebrza Marshes
DAY 6 (14th May)
- full day of exploring Biebrza Marshes
DAY 7 (15th May)
- exploration of Biebrza Marshes
- journey to Warsaw (ca. 2,5 hours), where the tour ends (Warsaw Chopin airport or Warsaw city centre) around 2 p.m.

Fantastic experience with Oliwier. A dear friend who had partecipated to the same tour in 2024 had strongly recommended us to choose Oliwier Myka as local guide. Well, the recent birdwatching and photo tour in north-east Poland from 7th to 13th May 2025, has been a great success thanks to the organization and skills of… this guy, who despite his young age is an expert in the biodiversity of his land. He was exceptional in recognizing the calls and songs of birds, always immediate in finding them in the vegetation and looking for the best conditions to obtain the best pictures possible. Oliwier always listened to our needs and desires, making sure to find ALL our lifers and giving us the opportunity to observe them in optimal conditions. The choice of the van too, that can be opened on both sides with sliding doors to facilitate getting in/out to take fast photos of species seen along the road, was spot on and very much appreciated. Oliwier has always been right and punctual, costantly in contact with the other guides for real-time reportings to allow us to see as many species as possible ….. and our dreams came true. Had an amazing week in Bialowieza forest and Biebrza marsh. Oliwier is a fantastic guide with incredible field skills and knowledge of the areas we visited. He’s also great company and our group of 6 had a great time seeing 151 bird species plus several mammals including Bison, Elk and Beavers with lots of laughs… along the way. One of many highlights of the trip was seeing 2 Black Woodpecker fly in and land close by followed 5 mins later by a Nutcracker!I would definitely book another trip with Oliwier and if like me you need those East European bird species on your list then Oliwier is your man! Oliwier is one of the best guides I have had the pleasure to travel with. Myself and a couple of good friends decided to spend a few days in NE Poland. The trip was mostly birding but we were also keen to see European Bison. We chose early May as it seemed like the best… time to have a chance to see most of our target species, but we were aware that some of the most desirable targets maybe a little difficult so late in spring. We should not have worried, from the very second we got into the forest Oliwier’s amazing knowledge got us onto Tengmalm’s Owl, also a family of Nutcrackers plus a flyover Black Woodpecker thrown in, all this in the first 15 minutes. After this incredible start it was difficult to imagine how the rest of the trip could compare, but it certainly did. We saw all of my personal targets thanks to Oliwier’s hard work and perseverance, and huge amounts of fun whilst doing so. We also had numerous encounters with Bison which at that time of year was by no means guaranteed, but again thanks to Oliwier’s incredible local knowledge we had some brilliant encounters with this iconic species. In addition to his guiding Oliwier booked us into two amazing guest houses, small and owner run, they were perfect for our needs. The guest house at Bialowieźa Forest Oliwier chose for us was right on the edge of the forest, walk out of the guest house cross the dirt track and there is the forest. The guest house we stayed in at Biebrza Marshes was also perfect, the hospitality and breakfast was everything one could ask for, and it is also birder friendly. I cannot recommend Oliwier highly enough as a guide. If you are considering a trip to NE Poland, Oliwier is the person to make it happen. Read more „Oliwier is one of the”
