WOLF & BISON SAFARI

all year round (best November – April)

A morning safari in Białowieża Forest in search of European Bison & Grey Wolf.

The trip lasts ca. 3-4 hours and starts at dawn. The trip usually consists of driving in SUV car (driven by a guide) in search of animals through the forest roads, glades & meadows of Białowieża Forest, yet sometimes involves walking at short distances (max. 2km in total) or spending some time at vantage points/road crossings.

The starting point can be determined anywhere in the Bialowieza Forest area, but this should be consulted in advance.

Your guide will be a local mammal tracker from Białowieża Forest with years of wildlife experience speaking at least basic English.

Reccomended time for this tour is from November to April. At that time of year observation of European Bisons are almost guaranteed, while chances for Wolves are high. However, from May to October you are still very likely to find European Bison & chances of seeing Wolves are also quite reasonable.

Other species possible on such a trip: Red Deer, Roe Deer, Red Fox, Pine Marten & sometimes Elk (Moose) and Lynx.

Price is 1200 PLN per group.

Number of participants: 1-4 (or 1-6 depending on vehicle availability).

We had a great day

We had a great day looking for wildlife with Oliwier during the Winter in Bialowieza. We had some lovely bison sightings, and spent some time walking through the forest, where we were lucky enough to see all the signs for wolves, before eventually catching a glimpse of pack of them ourselves. It was a truly special moment and definitely thanks to Oliwier’s great tracking skills. It was also amazing to find out more about all the other species inhabiting the forest as Oliwier is hugely knowledgeable. Can really recommend.
