I participated in the early
I participated in the early spring trip organised by Oliwier. The tour exceeded my expectations, as we saw all our bird targets (hazel grouse, three-toed and white-backed woodpeckers, waxwing, woodcock, boreal and pygmy owls, and more), as well as bison, wolves, elk, frogs, butterflies, and much other wildlife. Aside from the birds and mammals, Oliwier’s… passion, knowledge, and love for the Białowieża Forest and the region made this experience truly unique, and I felt privileged to take part in it. I would definitely recommend it! Read more „I participated in the early”
What a wonderful few days
What a wonderful few days exploring Bialowieza forest with Oliwier. He is an amazing guide whose love of the forest since childhood gives him exceptional sensitivity to its occupants and moods, and a deep knowledge of where to find what. If you want to see something in particular (wolves! pygmy and tengmalm’s owl!) he’ll strain… every sense and work with his forest contacts to find it. Oliwier is also good company, sharing his enthusiasm and happy to talk about other aspects of Poland. He’d organised the tour very well and our accommodation and food were excellent. An absolutely excellent guide who
An absolutely excellent guide who completely knows his “patch” (and what a patch it is!). We were interested in the whole picture, of habitat and ecology and this was something Oliwier was very able to share with us. Oliwier combines a very friendly and flexible attitude with expert knowledge, making time with him a real… pleasure. This is quite rare – not all experts can do this, but we think it’s equally vital to have a pleasant atmosphere as well as professional help – finding the best Pielmieni for lunch and Pygmy Owls for “afters”. It was a great balance. Oliwier is fluent in English (and of course, Polish) and we enjoyed sharing valuable information and funny moments too. He also helped recommend other things for us to do independently. We hope to visit Poland with Oliwier again. Bialowieza is well worth visiting again and again at different times. We were very lucky to see what we saw, but our luck was VERY much helped by Oliwier’s guidance. Thank you. Read more „An absolutely excellent guide who”
