Highlights: a total of 113 bird species recorded – incl. 8 species of Woodpeckers (Three-toed, White-backed, Grey-headed, Middle-spotted, Black, Syrian), Pygmy Owl, Hazel Grouse, Nutcracker, Tengmalm’s Owl (heard only), Black & White Stork, Greater Spotted Eagle, Bluethroat, Thrush Nightingale, Hen Harrier, Curlew, Black Grouse (heard only), Red-necked Grebe, Nutcracker, Ruff + Wolf, Bison, Elk, Water Shrew.
Early spring rocks! In the first 24hrs of the trip we already had 6 sp. of woodpeckers(White-backed, Black, Grey-headed, Middle-spotted, Lesser-spotted, Greater-spotted), Pygmy Owl & 3 wolves seen! Then we completed the list of woodpeckers and also added Nutcracker, Hazel Grouse & some other marshes birds as George wanted to visit Biebrza as well.
