Middle of January. Completing the list of polish owls

Jesteś tutaj: Home1 / Blog2 / blog3 / Middle of January. Completing the list of polish owls

Finally I was able to see Ural Owl, my 11th species of owl observed in Poland.

Last weekend I have visited a forest located nearby Kraków, where there is a population of about 30 breeding pairs. I saw two individuals, but especially the second one was seen very comfortably, including watching its hunting for several minutes.

This species is definitely doing pretty well in Poland with a origin species range covering only Carpathian Mountains. Nowadays they can be found throughout whole SE Poland. I hope to find Ural Owl one day in NE Poland as well…
