I just came back from Belarus. That was a relaxing trip out of roaming.

During the weekend we had 5 encounters with Great Grey Owls. They were closer and further, in the forest and on the marshes, looking majestic as always. Apart from that, breeding season for Woodpeckers has started. We had a few Grey-headed and Black, as well as a male of White-Backed drumming.There were no real comeback of winter only quite a frost at night. First Blackbirds were singing and Cranes just arrived to the area.

But undoubtely main reason for coming there is to see the real wilderness. And indeed we experienced it. Belarus now looks like Poland 30 years ago.
